Grandma Sharon and Grandpa Richard Play Grandparents

Since we can't seem to get any of our sweet grandchildren to live by us you know we are all in the process or borrowing a few from the ward. Monday was my birthday and we had two families with little girls come to the house to bring me potted plants and a candle. How fun is that! On Sunday night we had our traditional taco annual birthday dinner with David and the Bells. Lots of fun. Amanda came and brought a couple of friends. One was her roommate, Pamela Albertson, if any of you kids remember the Albertsons that used to live in our ward. We had all kinds of fun but poor Daurell was laying on the sofa or standing the whole time. Seems he slipped on some slippery rocks when he went fly fishing.

Richard invited one of our adopted grandkids, Jessica Blanding, to come over and help him make brownies and hot fudge for dinner. He enjoys that as much as I do.

Cannon is always busy. His favorite thing is to empty every single pencil, pen, marker, stapler, and literally anything else he can find in this drawer in the kitchen. After awhile you just give up and say, "At least he is keeping occupied and I know where he is."

Quinn's favorite place whenever I make anything is up on the countertop watching me. He asked me before he came if he and I could make my birthday cake together. So we did. Is it any wonder Maile waits to give the kids their baths until AFTER they have seen Grandma in the morning and helped with all her tasks?

If Cannon couldn't get to the drawer he waited until the pantry door was open and then made a dash for it. Do you know how fast a one-year-old can empty a pantry, at least as far up as he can reach. He scattered every cup and every napkin and anything else he could reach on the floor!

How fun! I want to help you make a chocolate cake---or at least watch you! Those are cute pictures--especially of the chunky monkey Canon!

But all little Canon wanted was some Macaroni, Grandma. (Love the look on his face!)
