When even Cody has updated his blog I know it is time for me to get with it.
Last week Richie and I left Wednesday evening to fly to sunny CA to spend time with Kami. Cody flew in the next morning and we spent the next few days having fun, taking bridal photos, wedding photos, and visiting places like the Garment District in downtown LA. Richard truly surprised me when he said the next day he would like to go back again. Carl he is getting more like you all the time.
We met "the folks" (Ben's parents) and I am happy to report there was not an urn with Grandma's ashes placed on the fireplace mantle. They were actually nice, good people! Let's hope they felt the same about us.
I will have to admit I didn't feel quite as safe in West Covina as I do in Redmond. But there are also some beautiful, peaceful areas around there. Saturday we drove up to Malibu to take the wedding photos. It was so amazingly beautiful. I could really get used to living in a home overlooking the ocean with a beautiful beach. I don't think it is going to happen to Richie and I so I will wait for one of the kids to hit it lucky and then I will just move in with them in my old age and be a pain in the behind to them. It will be the ultimate payback:)
I have to admit every time I spend time with the kids and/or family I realize just how much I am blessed. I couldn't ask for a kinder or more thoughtful sweetheart than the one I have had for more than 39 years. And I also realize how blessed I am to have the children I do. I am sure if we needed their help we could depend on any one of them at any time. I miss Pat and Carl and their kids as much as my own kids. We really did have hopes of Richard and Carl getting together in their old age and starting their "Two Old Farts Birdhouses" business.
Richard took a few photos so I will share a few with you.
I love this photo of a bird on the beach at Malibu.
Beach and ocean at Malibu. Not too far from Suzanne Sommer's home that burned.
Brother gives sister directions on how to pose for a perfect bridal photo.
Doesn't he look a little mysterious and like a hollywood star?
Kami at home with her perfect soldier. A cute story--a little boy saw Ben in his uniform at church and he came up and said, "Thank you for fighting the war for us soldier." It was so darn cute.
Two families meet. Ben's younger brother, Steve, is at the top of the table in the green shirt. He is so cute and so sweet. Ben's parents are at the end of the table across from me.
Since the wedding photos are being taken early they are a secret until the wedding. Thus I can only let you see their barefeet on the sands of Malibu Beach.
Looking down the beach at all the multi million dollar home overlooking the ocean.
